In the circumstances reported by the District Collectors and the recommendations of the Committee on Drought, Government hereby declare that Drought exists during the Rabi 2018-19 in 257 Mandals (Severe Drought in 228 mandals and Moderate Drought in 29 mandals) in Eight (8) Districts annexed to this order as per the guidelines prescribed by the Government of India revised manual for Drought Management - 2016 & a separate chapter on Rabi Drought declaration received vide Letter No. 03 -01/2018-DM-I, dated: 23.07.2018, from the Under Secretary to Govt. Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Department of Agriculture, cooperation and Farmers Welfare (Drought Management Division), Government of India, New Delhi. The concerned District Collectors shall take necessary further action and notify the specific Mandals/ specific areas in the Mandal in the District Gazette to enable farmers to avail credit facilities and to take up relief operations. The District Collectors concerned shall ensure deletion of the notified Municipal/Urban areas and areas falling under permanent assured irrigation sources from drought affected Mandals and only for the purpose of drinking water, these shall be treated on par with drought affected Mandals.
