Nedurumalli Janardhana Reddy Biography

Nedurumalli Janardhana Reddy (20 February 1935 – 9 May 2014) was a member of the 12th, 13th and 14th Lok Sabha of India. He represented the Visakhapatnam constituency of Andhra Pradesh and was a member of the Indian National Congress. He was also a Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh from 1990 to 1992.

Childhood and personal life

Nedurumalli Janardhana Reddy was born on February 20, 1935 for Sheshma and Subramanya Reddy in the village of Vaakadu in Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore district.He studied BA, BED in Nellore. Married Raja Lakshmi on May 25, 1962. They have four sons. In 2004,his  wife Rajya Laxmi was elected as a legislature to the Andhra Pradesh state .

Political reign

Janardhana Reddy, who became a member of the Rajya Sabha in 1972, continued for the term of six years and was later appointed as the Secretary of the Andhra Pradesh State Congress Committee (PCC). In 1978 he was elected to the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly in the state cabinet. He was in office until the Telugu Desam Party came to power in 1983. In 1988, Andhra Pradesh was appointed PCC President. In 1989, he was elected to the state legislature, in the cabinet. After the resignation of Marichhennareddy, the Chief Minister took over Janardhana Reddy.until he resigned in 1992, He was elected to the 12th Lok Sabha in 1998. In 1999 he was re-elected to the 13th Lok Sabha. During this period he served as a member of several parliamentary committees. Representing the most important Public Accounts Committee from 1999 to three years. In 2004, he was elected to the 14th Lok Sabha from the Visakhapatnam constituency for the third time in the Lok Sabha.

Chief Minister

In 1991, marri chenna reddy was resigned to moral responsibility for communal riots in Hyderabad and replaced Congress leader Nerudurmalli Janardhana Reddy as Chief Minister. Janardhana Reddy, who was able to control various gangs in the party, has taken many steps to control the disagreement at the party. In June 1992, five million per seat fee kapitesan the private-owned 20, engineering and medical colleges,  decided to give permits. The rumors spread that Janardhana Reddy had raised a large amount of money to grant them license. The government's declaration of permission was dismissed as unconstitutional. Janardhana Reddy resigned as chief minister after the High Court ruled ,the pressure from his party's dissident factions, including opposition.

Assassination Attempt

On September 7, 2007, the Maoists attacked Nedurumalli Janardhana Reddy's car Blow through remote control, Janardhan Reddy and his wife Rajyalakshmi escaped from death.

Death

He was suffering from liver ailment ,On May 9, 2014 he was died in Nims hospital.
