SLAS Test 2018 for 4th,6th and 9th Classes Schedule and Guidelines
Sub:- School Education Department, AP SCERT - Conduct of Student Learning Achievement Survey (SLAS) 2018 for Classes 4,6 and 9 in sample set of schools in all districts across the state.
All the Regional Joint Directors (RJDSEs), District Educational Officers (DEOs), District Project Officers (DPOs) are informed that , it is proposed that the third cycle of SLAS 2018-19 will be conducted on 26th, 27th and 28th of February, 2019 for classes 9th, 6th and 4th respectively.
The assessment framework of SLAS is as follows.
- Students from Class 4,6 and 9 will be tested.
- SLAS will be conducted for 2 subjects- Language (Telugu for Telugu Medium and English for English Medium) and Mathematics and a separate combined paper with international items.
- SLAS tools will be provided by CSSL.
- SLAS is an objective, multiple choice question tool - OMR will be used for evaluation of students.
- Sampling will be conducted by CSSL through a Stratified Proportionate Sampling procedure to ensure representative sample across each district.
- SLAS will be conducted in Telugu and English medium schools of both private and government managements.
- SLAS will be conducted in a mix of Government and Private schools.
- Overall in the state, in Class 4, around 27000 students will be tested in Language (Telugu/English), Mathematics and International subtests, in Class 6, around 42000 students will be tested in Language (Telugu/English), Mathematics and International subtests, and in Class 9, around 39000 students will be tested in Language (Telugu/English), Mathematics and International subtests.
- Service of the CRPs will be utilized for invigilation of SLAS in all schools and coding of combined paper.
SLAS will be conducted on Feb 26th,271h, and 28th, 2019 for 9th, 6th and 4th classes.
The SLAS is desianed to test the system and suaaest learnina improvement measures- it is NOT to test an indNiduol child or school. Results/Analysis from SLAS will NOT be utilized for any performance Points or otherwise- hence all DE0s, AMOs. Officials of 55k MEOs, Head Masters and teachers are requested to ensure foir conduction of SLAS so as to bring maximum benefit to the slate. Any malpractice will be viewed seriously and action taken against concerned persons.
