1) It is informed that in the reference
cited, the Secretary, DoSE&L, GoI, Shastri Bhavan, New Delhi has informed
that the MoE Innovation Cell (MIC) in coordination with all India Council for
Technical Education (AICTE) has launched a Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2022
programme and wanted for school students participation by submitting innovative
ideas and concept in the present year.
02) The Smart India Hackathon 2022 in
the last 5 years has evolved into the world's Largest Open Innovation Model to
solve some of the pressing problems, being faced in daily lives, and thus
inculcate a culture of product innovation and problem-solving mindset. In this
regard, the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India has applauded the SIH initiative on
multiple occasions which has helped to kick-start the Hackathon culture in India.
The previous editions of SIH have proven to be extremely beneficial for the students
of higher education institutes in establishing start ups and employment opportunities
in various organizations.
04) The spirit of doing better year on
year, this year SIH-2022 welcomes the participation from school students (6th
to 12th Class) under SIH Junior (Jr.) track. Single Point of Contact (SPOC)
registration for the school faculty is now open on the SIH Portal (www.sih.gov.in).
The SPOC can nominate school student teams against various themes including
Toys, Healthcare, Smart Education etc. available on the official website of
SIH2022.
05) The Smart India Hackathon (SIH)
-2022 will enable students to get hands-on experience and will motivate them to
emerge as problem solvers and innovators. In this regard the Secretary,
DoSE&L, GoI, Shastri Bhavan, New Delhi has instructed to take necessary
steps to encourage Principals/ heads of all schools in the State to ensure sincere
and wholehearted participation of their students in SIH-2022. In this

2022 is enclosed in Annexure-A for necessary action.
06) Therefore, all the District
Educational Officers & Ex-Officio Project Coordinators and Additional
Project Coordinators of Samagra Shiksha in the State are here by requested to
disseminate the matter to all Govt., Schools of their respective districts without
fail and submit their action taken report to this Office.
