All the District Educational Officers in
the state are informed that, Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) has
informed in the ref.2nd, cited that there is a dire need to undergo basic level
Fitness program in all schools as there was no sports activity due to COVID-19
for the last three years and the students have spent most of time at homes and
classrooms only. No physical activity was allowed for the last three years in
the schools and PETs/PDs are also not engaged in physical activities in the
schools. Hence the fitness levels have became very low in the students.
To overcome the situation and to improve
fitness level in all the Students, the SAAP has proposed to start 15 days basic
fitness program, after that discipline wise sports training for 21 days in
locally available disciplines. At the end of the camp battery tests should be
conducted and all physical education teachers and PDs must ensure that all the
students must pass the battery tests. Also, any school student can attend any
summer camp conducted by PETs/PDs in their location. All the PDs/PETs are
requested to run this summer camp in their school and make it a success.
In view of the above, all the District
Educational Officers in the state are directed to issue necessary instructions
through the concerned Headmasters / Managements to PET/PD’s to conduct summer
camps for 15 days basic Fitness training and 21 days discipline wise Sports
Coaching in locally available disciplines to all students in schools in the
state from 9th May. The training period for two hours each in the morning from
6 to 8 AM & evening from 4:30 to 6:30 PM (one hour one batch if strength is
high). Also all DEOs are requested to ensure to implement the same in both
Private and Government schools with a condition that any student can enroll in
any summer camp/school at any location in the state. The sports and games
material available in the schools shall be used for organize these activities.
After completion of the training,
conduct battery tests and Mandal level tournaments with the help of Mandal
sports authority for the benefit of the students physical and mental strength.
All the DEOs are directed to give wide publicity on need of the activity
immediately and make it success with proper plan, monitor, coordination and
report time to time.
